Kristin Samuelson

Nicknames:  Bopta, Bop, Krinin, K-Town

Year in school:  Senior, sadly

Hometown:  South Elgin, IL

Major:  Communication:  Journalism/Music minor

Number of years in Minor Detail:  3 Years

Usual vocal part:  It varies.  But mostly alto, tenor or vocal percussion (VP=Vice President, get it?)

Character, Actress or Actor You Most Identify with:  I'm pretty quirky, so I'd say Phoebe from "Friends" or Joan Cusack in "Runaway Bride."

Favorite candy:  Skittles, Peanut Butter M&Ms, Swedish Fish (b/c I'm Swedish!), Sour Patch Kids

Who inspires you as a singer?  Mr. Rausch, Alicia Keys, Martina McBride, Gavin Degraw, pretty much anyone who can actually SING when they perform and NOT lip sync... (eh hem, Ashley Simpson) and anyone who truly knows how to capture an audience with a performance.

What are you addicted to:  FOUNTAIN COKE!!! No question!  Also, staying up late, singing...

Weirdest thing you've ever done:  This would probably be the time when Rachael and Erica challenged me to a fountain Coke taste-off.  I said I could tell the difference between any fast food restaurant's fountain Coke.  So we went to Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King and Kum and Go and bought a Coke from each restaurant.  When we got home, they put all the Cokes in unmarked glasses and sadly, I could decipher which Coke was from which restaurant.  It's one of my many talents...rrrright.  I know, I'm pretty cool, right?

Favorite Minor Detail moment:  Well after three awesome years, this one's hard to answer so I'm going to list a few:  Playing the keyboard in the SUB during dining hours, Badeed, "Well if you'd give us our notes!"-Andrea, "You guys, I can't get that harmony because I have to sing my other part, ya know?  Because I'm the only one"-Liz, "How exactly do you pronounce, 'li (h)ime?"-Rach, "The Milk Dud" incident.  Ahh...so many more!

Favorite Minor Detail quote:  I'm pretty sure I named these in the previous question.  Way to follow the rules, Kristin!

Solos:  "It's Rainin' Men"

Harmonies:  "Kisses Medley"

Past Solos:  "Son of a Preacher Man," "Walking on Broken Glass," "Chicago Medley"

What CD do you have in your CD player right now?  "Stevie Wonder: Greatest Hits" but Jackson 5 has been known to enter the player on many occasions.

Plans After Graduation:  Become a professional Coke-taster.  Ok, just kidding.  I'm hoping to snag a job in Event Planning for maybe a hotel chain?  I've pondered moving to many a city, such as Chicago, Boston, Phoenix, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Nashville and Florida.  We'll see where the wind takes me, and by that I mean, where I someone will hire me!

Final thoughts:  I have to apologize in advance for sobbing at our spring concert this year because leaving this group might just be the saddest day of my life up until now.  I love all the girls that are in the group and have been in the group.  You girls and being in the group have changed my life in ways I can't even explain.  Thank you for everything.
